River Crossing Guidance -

Throughout the training phase, River State "Normal" river sections will remain OOB as they will never be accessible during the event. These sections are marked RED on the Ten Tors map. ECMs will record an infringement against any teams they encounter crossing RED sections.

River conditions on Dartmoor change quickly, during training it will be the TMs responsibility to assess the safety of any planned river crossing. These should be considered in advance as part of the training risk assessment and should consider likely conditions. It is likely that during the training season rivers may well be impassable and alternative plans  should be made for these situations. 

As a qualified leader, you are responsible for training your teams in safe water crossing procedures. Updated training and cpd to ensure current best practice is followed is highly recommended.
