Fri 24 May 2024: A message from The Event Director - Col Matt Palmer
Wow – Ten Tors 2024 was a spectacular, if rather hot, success! The participants should be extremely proud, as should those who steered the teams through months of training and preparation with such dedication. As a first timer to the Event, I was struck by the significance of the challenges, as well as the contagious energy that surrounds the weekend – enhanced by the thousands of spectators who made the finish line atmosphere so fabulous. Thank you. Of course, none of this would have been possible without the support of hundreds of volunteers and Service personnel; their efforts behind the scenes in both planning and delivery ensured a challenging and safe event for all.
Ten Tors is the jewel in the crown of national youth challenges and embedded in the South West’s DNA. During my tenure as the Event’s Director, the team and I will work hard to keep it that way, whilst ensuring we evolve. As ever, we have learnt much this year and are capturing those lessons before preparation for Ten Tors 2025 starts in earnest. See you there!
